The PIEC decree
The PIEC decree (parts from the circular economy), in force since 1 January 2017, obliges garages to offer second-hand spare parts for certain car repairs. This decree aims to encourage the use of recycled and reconditioned parts, thus offering an economical and ecological alternative to new ones. The AGEC law
The AGEC law (Anti-Gaspillage for a Circular Economy), enacted on February 10, 2020, reinforces measures in favor of the circular economy. This law notably imposes a minimum duration of availability of spare parts for certain equipment, in order to promote their repair rather than replacement. EPR
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a system that requires manufacturers and importers of products to take responsibility for the management of their waste. In the automotive sector, this means that producers must ensure the collection, treatment and recycling of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and their components.
